Mordecai?

Mordecai.  I dunno, for the past fifteen or so years the name has just always been there.  Not so much a common nickname for me, but a name I'm fond of and use from time to time.  If we ever have a boy I would love to name him Mordecai, but I know Mare won't ever go for it.  So it has become somewhat of a pen name for me.

Maybe it's obvious, but the inspiration comes from the book of Esther in the Old Testament.  Mordecai was a Jew, taken captive and away from his homeland.  He helped his relative become Queen Esther, used of God to bring physical salvation to the Jewish race.  So, there you have it!
